Do you know what film this is?

ok so i want to watch this film i saw a few years back but i cant remember what it was called please help me :)... ok so i can remember a guy crashes his plane in vietnam (or somewhere similar) so he gets kidnapped and taken to a pow camp, and held hostage, he then escapes with his friend (i think he was in his head) who dies, that's all i can remember, Thank you for all our help :)
