Foo fighters questions please answer?

been a fan since '95...i know they set to go on a break...greatest hits coming out november...i also know about dave and tcv as i am seeing them TWICE in october...but what about the future of ff? what do u guys think? taylor claims they won't be gone for too long. but there doesn't seem to be a straight answer...plus dave's set with touring w. tcv for the next year...but any ideas on ff?
