Having trouble deciding whether to write in chronological order or not? (I'm trying to write a novel)?

You can write the book in any chronological order, most good ideas won't follow any kind of time line. Just jot down ideas that pop into your head and keep doing this. Eventually you will see patterns emerging in your notes, like character similarities, scenarios and settings that you can link together, this will also keep ideas separated in terms of tense, is this happening now?, in the past?, or in the future?. Basically just keep writing!, the more material you have to work with the better your writing will become.
